Our Background
Andrea has trained and worked extensively in the area of speech disorders and delays in children and young adults since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2006. As a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia, her qualifications include being both PROMPT trained and HANEN trained with experience in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). She is also highly qualified in treating feeding and complex communication difficulties.
Before starting Tweed Coast Speech Pathology, Andrea spent 11 rewarding years’ working in the disability sector at Montrose, a leading NDIS provider of therapies and support for young people with disabilities.
As a natural with kids, it’s no wonder our clients love working with her! Her passion for helping children improve their life through communication has seen even the most nervous patients feel at ease with her friendly nature and advanced methods.
Tweed Coast Speech Pathology specialise in kids speech therapy, teen speech therapy and NDIS speech therapy. Our services are diverse and include treating both common and complex disorders including, speech, language, literacy, stuttering, lisps, disabilities, feeding, voice problems and more.

We make the benefits of speech therapy even more accessible by coming to you. We’re able to travel to homes, schools and daycare centres located from Pottsville to Burleigh on the Gold Coast. We work closely with parents, teachers and carers to develop a speech pathology plan that is both effective and convenient for the child. Please note that a small travel fee applies to these visits.
Any clients living outside of these areas are more than welcome to visit our clinic in Banora Point in Tweed Heads. We’re open from 8:30am-5pm Monday to Thursday with early morning appointments available upon request.
Alternatively, if coming into our clinic or us coming to you is not an option. We are happy to complete the session through our teletherapy service.
She is able to provide a thorough assessment of the client to determine their strengths and weaknesses. A combination of strategies and techniques is then used to improve their communication skills to the best of their ability.
Andrea is also highly trained in Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) and can teach children and young adults with ASD to communicate effectively using alternative communication methods, such as pictures and gestures. She also has extensive experience in treating feeding and complex communication disorders.
During the initial assessment, Andrea will determine the best method of treatment based on medical history, temperament and individual needs and goals.
At Home and School Visits Available
We take our services to homes, schools and daycare centres from Pottsville to Burleigh. We come together with parents, teachers and childcare workers to design a therapy plan that’s convenient, efficient and tailored to meet the child’s unique needs in the classroom or home.
If you live outside of these areas, please feel free to visit us in Tweed Heads. We’re open from 8:30am-5pm Monday to Thursday with early morning appointments available upon request. Contact our clinic to find out more or to book an appointment.

Each young patient that comes to see us will receive a thorough assessment of their condition by our speech pathologist, Andrea Miles.
